Linking Expressions/Transitional Phrases
Use Linking expressions to show how ideas are related and make a paragraph or essay read smoothly.
Linking expressions are words or phrases that show relationship between ideas, details and examples in a paragraph. Such expressions tie together sentences, showing how one idea is related to the one that comes before it, or after it. As you learn to use these expressions, remember that each expression is appropriate for a particular kind of relationship.
