I need help with the 1993 DBQ, its due tomorrow!!! AHHH!!!

Okay so I know a lot of people have posted about this DBQ but I was wondering if anyone had any additional information I could use? The question is from the 1993 DBQ:

Although New England and the Chesapeake region were bothe settled largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. Why did this difference occur?

Any help that anyone can give to me at all would be much appreciated. Please!!!
