Lincoln's responsibility for Crittenden Proposal

I'm really struggling with this DBQ due Wednesday...

To What Extent was President-elect Abraham Lincoln responsible for the defeat of the Crittenden Proposal on the territorial expansion of slavery?

Any help would be so appreciated..all the information is on Crittenden, not Lincoln's involvement
