Am I the only one who thinks that history is ridiculously boring and useless?

Now, I expect most of you to disagree with me, but every time I have asked the question, "Why do I need to learn history?", I receive the answer, "To prevent repeating past mistakes", or something along those lines. But my argument against this is, "Why would I need to study the past if I know that I am not going to be changing history?". So, what's your opinion?

By the way, I am totally unprepared for the U.S. history exam coming up. Even though my history teacher taught the class well, apathy prevented me from getting a good grade in the course.
