Trouble with the Fountainhead

I have to read the Fountainhead for Language and Composition AP and I'm having trouble getting into the story. I'm on page 100 and I'm not feeling a care for the characters. I feel like I'm reading this because I have to, not because I want to. Does anyone have any tips for me?:confused:
