Conservation of Energy Kevin D. Edgerton Objective: The objective of this experiment is to study the law of conservation of energy and see how the conservation of energy equation is used. . It does not violate the law of conservation of energy because the energy lost in the collision with the ground is not accounted for by the measurements of potential and kinetic energy. Because of this, the total energy decreases after each bounce. With a lighter ball there may be less energy lost during the collisions.
