The novel called The Great Gatsby is a book about murder, love, money, and corruption. The setting of the book is in the 1920s, in Long Island, NY, and at that time the stock market was up and booming, along with the start of the American dream. Jay Gatsby is a man that is destroyed by greed, the decline of happiness, and the disintegration of love. The theme of The Great Gatsby is about a man who is dealing with the fall of his American dream, which is to be happy, rich and with Daisy (his lover) who is currently married to Tom Buchanan.
