Chapter 11 ?'s Tuesday, January 03, 2012 11:50 AM ? the southern way of life for the white southerner is mainly on plantations, where they grow surpluses of food and sell it to other countries and the north. The stable crop, cotton ecomony shaped the southern way of life because it was very prosperous and rich. The south had little to no social oppisition even the "clay eaters" were satisfied b/c they were the dominant race bonded togther by kinsmanship the northe differed in the fact theat there was no dominant race so the classes were harsher. So less brotherly love. There were more slave states so they grew in size but they did not advance in tech.
