Originally, the blame was placed on Stalin and the USSR but then the blame turn towards the US Both had different historical perspectives and both had irreconcilable political ambitions Both sought to extend their way of life to the rest of the world Competition for political and military supremacy had long been a tradition of the Western Civilization the U.S and the Soviet played followed this tradition The Soviet's defense was different than the U.S.' The U.S doctrine of containment was an offensive action that forced Stalin?s suspicions The doctrine was used to stop the domino effect of communism Moscow was placed in a hostile state towards the West? Stalin?s had suspicions of the West that were based in his marxist leninist perspective and long in the doctrine of containment
