The French and Indian War was a war fought between the French and the English on American soil over the control of the Ohio River Valley. France was very determined to take complete control of the Ohio Valley and Western Pennsylvania. The French and Indian War altered political, economic, and ideological relations between Britain and its American colonies as it established England as the number one world power and began to gradually change attitudes of the colonists toward England for the worst.
