AP World History Summer Assignment 2015-16 School Year ?Why do we have to do a summer assignment? This is a commonly asked question within local educational circles. The reason is NOT because we are trying to take away your summer and burden you with a heavy work load. However, all students take the AP Exam on the same day in mid-May. In order for us not to get too far behind, it is imperative that we assign you some work over the summer.

Who were the Huguenots and how did they figure in France?s political history The Huguenots were credited as a group of French Protestants (Gonzalez 127). They were used by Catherine Medici, she allowed them to gain power in order to be able to offset the Guise (128). As they grew, so did the tension between them and the Guise. The tension resulted in a massacre of Huguenots by the the Guise (128). This then caused a numerous amount of religious wars that broke out in France between 1567 and 1570 (128). The modern application is that not all believers in God, are the good kind. Some have deep seeded hatred between other denominations, and will even take radical means in order to exterminate them.
