Forrest Gump Forrest Gump is an American historical fiction film that portrays several decades of American history. The film?s main character is Forrest Gump, a na?ve and academically troubled young man. Despite Forrest?s academic troubles, he is athletically inclined with his outstanding running ability. The movie takes place in Greenbow Alabama where Forrest was born and raised. Forrest is the witness, and in many cases he influences defining events in the twentieth century.
