Lucas Capobianco-Hogan 4/14/15 Gupta Empire- 320-550 CE. An ancient Indian empire founded by Maharaja Sri Gupta. Pataliputra- a city in ancient india originally built by Magadha ruler Ajatasatru. built as a small fort near the ganges river. Present day Patna Sanskrit- ancient Indian language, in which the hindu scriptures and classical Indian epic poems are written and from which many northern Indian languages. the primary language and writing style of Hinduism Buddhism vs. Hinudism- Hinduism refers to the understanding of brahma existence, from within the atman which means ?self?. Buddhism is about finding the Anatman which means ?not self?. In hinduism one must remove bodily distractions but in buddhism one must follow a disciplined life
