He also received training at the Real Acedemia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. He showed signs of being a very good artist at a young age In the year 1900 Picasso made his first trip to Paris which at the time was the art capitol of the world. His first year there was spent in poverty; he even had to burn his own work to heat his small apartment. Then in 1901 he moved to Madrid and began drawing for a magazine. In 1905 his work started to be collected.
