can you tell me some things about colonial new york?
New York was originally New Netherland- a colony created by the Dutch West Co. for fur trading. After Sweden established New Sweden along the Delaware, New Netherland overtook it. The english saw this as an intrusion of their space and claimed NN as their own without much of a fight from NN. It was renamed NY after the duke of york.

can you tell me about early rebellions of colonists against either britain or organized government in general? omit: bacon's rebellion
they didnt really rebel against their mother country till the revolution. yes, they might have rebelled against the Navigation Acts, Mercantilism, and other stuff but they took action later on with Boston Tea Party and the tarring of tax collectors.

Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settles largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into two distinct societies. Why did this difference in development occur?
well, first, you have to know state your thesis. which means you must know some information before look at the documents to back you up. your thesis should be something like. "The differences between the New England and Chesapeake devloped due to the geography, religion, government, beliefs, and purposes which shaped the cultures of these two regions." of course, that will be bracketed and be written in a sentence. which means there will be a paragraph leading up to your thesis. and your thesis should be the last sentence. then you are to group your documents explain why you use them and quote them. they are only a back up. your knowledge of the information is important.
Please tell me differences between the Chesapeake and Carolina regions.
carolina- favored by king because they grow crops that aren't home grown and usually have to be imported from other foreign countries. having the benefit of growing it in your own colonies is a big advangtage. SOUTH carolina grows rice, indigo, and toboacco. they are rich with a class of plantation owners and high population of slaves. the poor people are in north carolina. they are the "back country" of south carolina and virginia who is also rich like south carolina. n. carolina is looked down upon. the chesapeake is like purtians and it is sort of similar to north. it is an important part of history because it is where a lot of our ideas come from, they are radical. a lot of puritan ideas come from there. chesapeake area is new england so new england is very different from south carolina in geography and climate and crops, and econonmy, religion, and government. and also charter. the people dont have slaves or anything either.
