Congregational church was originally part of the puritan church but grew out of it. it was dominant in new england while the anglican church was dominant in the southern colonies. it allowed church members to vote on decisions and stuff.

first families of virginia were a group of very wealth landowners who dominated the house of burgesses for quite a few generations

salem witch trials was when a group of teenage girls accussed people of witchcraft in salem mass. 21 people were found guilty and killed. though there were many witch hunts in both europe and america, this one was especially prominent because it was one of the first instances of social stratification. in the salem witch trials it was the rich/important women that were commonly accussed by low income "witnesses"

the congretional church in our history book was a group of puritan men belonging to the congretions, which if i remember was like the Visible Saints, who were the only people allowed to vote on decisions in the church. I didnt know that it was a whole different church. who knows, history is in the eyes of who tells it
