I'm trying to formulate a DBQ about the Salem Witch Trials, but this is my first DBQ and I have no idea what to do.

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
Do you know the guidelines and how to answer the question and all that at all?
can someone please (without wasting too much of their time) tell me what a DBQ is? I'm going off to check the help section and google the meaning.
A DBQ is a document-based-question.
Basically, you are presented with an essay prompt and a certain number of documents. You have to formulate an essay to answer the prompt using the documents presented to you as well as outside information on the topic.
thank you!
I'm just not sure how to word it.
You mean how to word the whole essay or how to do the essay or what exactly?
How to word the question. My teacher just wants us to write a question and find the documents, basically making our own DBQ.
Oh, ok.
Umm.. Well what do you want it to be on? Have you decided on a topic?
Contact me on my msn or aim if you want, I'll help you there.
My topic is the Salem witch trials. I was thinking along the lines of "How did the witch trials affect the people living in the community?" or something like that.
Hmm.. To what extent did the Salem Witch Trials affect those individuals living in the community?
Not very different from yours.
