Ooo, I had a topic discussion on this...a couple weeks ago. Let's see what I remember...
Okay, first, divide up the prompt into three points. A couple good ones are:
1. Religious freedom/lack thereof in the
a. New England colonies
b. Middle colonies
c. Southern colonies
2. In the whole of the colonies, Religion was
a. free
b. strict
c. mix or a middle amount of religious freedom
Well, after you divide up the points, think of subpoints to defend the points. (ex.- Rhode Island for freedoms, Maryland for Catholics, Pennsylvania for Quakers, Act of Toleration, Universities, etc.)
Remember, the prompt just says 'analyze'. So, while you can come out and say, "During the times before the 18th century, religious freedoms were very existent/nonexistent in the colonies..." (only, don't say it like that because that is absolute bs writing), you don't need to.
