I hav a test on friday n we're gonna hav 2 write an essay n one of these topics are gonna b it... n i'm really not sure what the teacher wants us to write... can sum1 help me out??
1. "The dissent from Puritanism was as important in teh formation of New England as Puritansim itself." How valid is this statement? Defend your answer.
2. "Throughout the colonial period, economic concerns had more to do with the settling of N. America than did religious concern." Assess the validity of this statement with specific reference to economic and religious concern.
And what have you done so far?
well the first one is a little tricky with the wording, so im not sure about it..
but the second one..i would go with something like it depends on what country you are talking about...if you are just focusing on england expansion, then yeah, they first started coming here because of the protestant reformation and all the religious crap going on in england. they kept expanding for money though..
the dutch were just greedy.
french were too..kinda..they wanted trade..
and spanish didnt care about N. america once they found out there was no gold
so yeah thats what i got. just clean it up a bit and i hope i helped
well the first English group was not here for religion, but for ecomomic concerns (Virginia Company)
Most of New England Came for Religious Reasons
