Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!

Please for future reference, read the post you are responding to Carfully and with an open mind. You can use those words if you use the implied definitions of both (brush up on your english before you challenge an english majors judgment) and reread my statment.

Not to take sides, but she was correct in one thing - It is grammatically incorrect (according to the ETS) to use due to, the correct idiom is because of.
kittenluver: it's good but a thesis should encompass ur 3 main points... in my example 2 armando i just made up 3 things (American government, its economy, and its people), which i basically got from the ? itself (government-> politics, economy->economic, people->social & religious)... Your thesis statement requires you to reword the question (in a way that does not use the actual words in the ?) and to answer the question, while giving your three main points... if u need ne help u can im me on aim @ ruby1989... keep in mind, ur thesis is essentially the most important thing in ur essay... the ap graders r gonna weigh it heavily, in the sense that if they like it they'll like ur essay n if they don't they won't like ur essay. It is what draws ur reader in... at least that's what my teacher said...
no offense, but sturdy does indeed mean strong, but in the context it doesn't make sense. It sounds better describing a physical entity as opposed to an abstract idea. I would however use such words if i was to employ a metaphor, but i highly doubt you are doing that. And you're an english major? Does this mean you're in college and majoring in English? I'm sorry if you're not speaking in the literal sense and you're only implying that English is a subject you excel in. And by the way, I am in AP English and I do believe I am doing well in the class and I can identify grammatical errors as well as idioms ;)
No, my brother's an English major and I asked him and he concurred with me. Lol... concurred what a word.

Our assignment is as simple and general or hard (whichever way you look at it)
the thesis statement is as follows, During the early 1700s, prior to the French and Indian War (1754-1763), Americans had to become less dependent on Great Britain and had become rather homogeneous.
We were then instructed to find 6-8 documents so that a student could then agree or disagree with this statement. I think we will finally give our docs to another student for them to write a DBQ on the subject at hand.
Anything will be appreciated,,, Thanks a lot
why did you post that here? make a new thread to ask a new question please.
