I am doing a Vin-Diagram on the views of Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton . I have the differing views of both sides, but I am stuck when it comes to what they thought the same on. Everywhere I have looked (Google, AP 13ed, Enclyc.) they describe their ideas as total oppisites. Alot of why I am posting this is to try and see if people are coming up with the same results I am.

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
If I knew what a Vin-Diagram is I would help you out.
Armando: a VENN-diagram is a diagram involving 2 or more shapes (usually circles) that intersect showing similarities and differences between the topics.

LyokoFreeze: You won't find many similarities between Hamilton and Jefferson because there really are none. Both represented opposite views on the political spectrum. Hamilton favored more government intervention and a loose interpretation of the constitution. While Jefferson favored less federal government, and a very strict interpretation of the constitution. They were both extreme political rivals, similar to Henry Clay and Andrew Jackson.
I can't believe Armando didnt know what a venn diagram was.........
Anyway in school we are learning ch. 10 and discussing Hamilton and Jeffersons views....we even had a debate over the sides in class. I agree with slider0917 in the fact that there werent many similarities. Because as you know they thought very differently and when you think as opposite has them there aren't any significant similarities. Its like trying to compare the colors black and white....there isn't any except that they are both colors. It's basically saying the only comparison between jeff/ham is that they are both men.
stephkat, I know what a Venn-Diagram is but not a Vin-Diagram :P
Also, I'm not familiar with Venn-Diagrams when comparing only two things.
That is what I was finding as well. Thanks. And I realised i spelled it wrong about 10 seconds after i posted it, but had to get off the interenet.
ive got something I think (not this is very much like beating around teh bush) but if you need to compare those two then take the analogy that stephkat provided us with.
Black vs White:
yes, they are both colors but also they are both the concidered the absense of color, they are both as far as possible to an end of the color spectrum, and they both are highly defined (you cant get brighter than white or darker than black).
So take that and replace Black and White with Hamiltion and Jefferson. It'll take some stretching but its plausible. =)
