I really don't know what else to do. I get tests every three days in my class and I do study for my tests but for some reasons I always end up getting grades in the 80's. So far my highest grade in the class is a 93. Is there anything that I can do better to improve my grade. thanks
EJ
Maybe you just need to find an different way to study. What kinds of things are you doing now?

well do you use the high light technique to study for ur test? and do you go to tutor for help at your school?
I use the outlines on this site and i write my own summaries. what is the highlight techniques? maybe it will help. thanks
EJ
the notes on this site aren't everything. Try reading the chapter yourself and taking your own notes.
When I take notes I put a line over on the right hand side, taking up mayne 1/4 of the page, then any extensive explanations etc. can be placed there.
When highlighting, don't do entire sentences, stick to key words because your brain can fill in the rest and it will still make sense.
you highlight the terms that ur teacher said it is important when he lecture and you also hight light stuffs when you read you History Textbook. That way when you study you will remember those key words that will help you on the test and in DBQ and FRQ essays....
It work for me that why I achieved an A, so I hope it work out for you... Hit me up on aim at Asiannerdy if u need to ask more question. X D ok now I gtg...
You're allowed to write in your books? You guys are so lucky. And a tutor...
You may also want to take the key terms and define them. When (and if i suppose) you do, include a summary of the event or term and state how it's important. The point of AP is to try and better understand why and how, not just when and where.
Also, I suggest finding a friend to study with. You can take turns teaching eachother or reviewing. Studies show that you learn the most when you teach. Even if you have absolutely no idea what the book is talking about, try to explain it to someone else and listen to their explanations.
One more suggestion. Try moving while you study. It helps some people concentrate and learn more.

Well I'll tell you what I do for class. While my teacher lectures I take notes, and while he goes through the lecture I also follow along in my notes from the previous night. When I get home, I compare the notes I took at home to the notes I took at school. We do about 2 to 3 chapters a week so I continue this method for all the chapters. About 2 or 3 days before the test, I compare my notes with Course Notes and then I take the practice quizzes. I take those tests until I get all the answers correct. The last two things I do is take the chapter tests on www.college.hmco.com (this is for the American Pageant book)and complete the worksheets in the workbook my teacher gave us. I hope my study habits help you. Do good on your next test. If you have a question about my test grades the highest I have gotten so far was a 94, 97, and a 98. I slacked a little on my last test and I received an 88.
The highlighting thing works really well for me. We have reading guides in our APUSH classes and I read the chapter on here before we take the notes in class. Then I highlight the main ones that they have in common. Reading ahead also helps you answer the questions in class. :D
thanks you guys for your advice. most of what you guys said i already did but i'll try using the new techniques.
