*pokes back*No, not the people, just the government.
Anarchy is not usually condoned in day-to-day society. And remember, Congress is primarily democratic now. And very, very pissed at Bush for his 21,000.

Hmm, I should excuse myself from the "taking out the government" part of the convo because I am afraid that it will be taken seriously by somebody.
And while it is true that Congress is primarily democratic now, the Senate is very still a very close match.
Majority Party: Democrat (49 seats)
Minority Party: Republican (49 seats)
Other Parties: 1Independent; 1 Independent Democrat

So Bush may be impeached but not removed from office.
True... I suppose that even if some of the republican senators wanted to oust him they'd be too afraid to go against the party.

The majority of Demcorat's may also be reluctant to impeach and/or remove Bush from office. If they vote for impeachment and/or removal, they are facing a potential outcry declaring them UnPatriotic and UnAmerican. Also, with how things are currently being ran, there is also the chance of being classified as a terriost.
Oh god. No! Given the things I've seen and read, I'd say that people aren't worrying too much about being classified as unpatriotic anymore. I'll bet that if you started a poll, most people wouldn't classify impeachment as unpatriotic. If anything, it'd be patriotic in its defense of America by removing a leader that has ignored 78% of public opinion!

What's the use anyways? Bush is in essence useless. He can't run again, midterm elections are over, so what's the point in pleasing him? I mean sure the republicans support him and some of the bills he pases, but that's mainly just party stuff. We have a lame duck president who probably couldn't even convince congress to pass things he wanted unless they wanted it in the first place. All he has to do now is make sure not to mess it up for the next republican candidate. As long as he he does that, I'm pretty sure they could care less about what he does and won't listen to what he has to say (beyond as much as they have to).

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," say Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It
O, I know that soozin, I'm just refering to accusations that I believe the Republican party would make.
Also, pinaogirl, the point of taking out Bush right now is because he has broken the law and ignored the Constitution. 2 years left or 40 years left the punishment for that for a President is impeachment and removal from office, regardless of the time left. If we don't impeach him and remove him from office, we are setting a precedent that if a President does something in his 2nd term of office that should be punished, well, he's alright because he only has a few years left anyways.
Additionally, he still has the power to veto any legislation that Congress passes. If he does that, there's a chance that Congress won't be able to get a big enough vote to override (I think it's 2/3?) the veto.
Bush may not have a lot of power anymore, but he's still a figurehead for this country. If the world is going to start taking us seriously again, we should remove him once and for all. Cheney, too. There's speculation that he's the one telling Bush to continue the war. He's a well-known warhawk.
Besides, impeaching Bush and Cheney and removing them from office would severely damage the Republican Party. From a nonpartisan standpoint, the more popular party has a greater chance of getting their own candidate elected in 2008.
Finally, Bush and Cheney DESERVE it! If there's a chance to remove them from office before 2008, who wouldn't jump at the chance? The sooner he's lost control, the better. A serious impeachment charge would further destabilize his influence, which at least 52% of Americans want! When Clinton had oral sex with Monika Lewinsky, only about 26% of Americans actually agreed with impeaching him. Bush needs to be thrown out, ASAP. He's out of touch with the interests of the Americans he supposedly represents, and he's hella dangerous.

Agreed!
The government is supposed to reflect it's people. This government is not doing that.
