This is gonna sound really stupid, but I was reading the Unit in my APUSH book and I came upon two sections that really stumped me. Okay, I know that Marcus Hanna supported McKinley's campaign. In my book it says that "Hanna was personally attracted to McKinley; 'I love McKinley,' he once said." I am taking this straight from the book. And on another page it says that, "McKinley continues to maintain intimate relations with Hanna." This kind of gave me a chuckle!!! This is the first time that I've actually read the chapters before my test. I think that it is actually interesting! Maybe I'll read it more often. :D

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
I don't think so.
Remember back then that people were less, er... perverted (sorry for the lack of a better word) and thus when they say things like, "I love McKinley," he really means as a brother or close friend. 'Intimate' doesn't necessarily always relate to something sexual. It can mean 'close' as mentioned earlier.

Yea. I didn't think that he was probably gay. Back then they wouldn't even have made that public because it wasn't as common as our world today. It was just weird that the book stated it like that.
What book do you have??
Sounds like American Pageant.
