While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! Scarlet letter was an awesome book!!!! It was probably my all time favorite. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was good too. There are so many good books. Omg.... Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult,The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I could get lost in so many books!!!
I like the Brontes' stuff...Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is pretty good too.
BRAVE NEW WORLD!!!! At our school we start reading off the AP Lit list freshman year for our summer reading for Honors English. I read BNW before my Sophmore year and loved it. A Separate Peace and Great Expectations were good. I liked Tess of the D'Ubervilles but it had a lot of scenery descriptions in it. But BNW was probably one of the best.
Now if your teacher reccomends Silas Marner, Heart of Darkness, or Othello... cry. The first one is about an epileptic weaver (enough said), the second I haven't read but EVERYONE in AP Lit this year says that it is evil incarnate.
I also heard that Brave New World was great! If you liked that you will probably love this book called Feed. I am not sure who the author was, but you should check it out!
i strongly reccommend Bronte's Jane Eyre!(my favorite book), I recently finished The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, as well as The Scarlett Letter, these are fabulous books! Also The Fountainhead is wonderful, but a little lengthy over break... for some light reading, The Erye Affair is superb, especially if you've read Jane Eyre, but if you haven't, beware, it may spoil the ending. Good luck on your book hunt!
