Hi??????

Hi everyone.

Name: Mark
Age: 16
Location: Toronto, Ontario
current AP course: uhhh what's an AP course

I say this because I don't even know if I'm supposed to be here because if you've figured out from above I'm Canadian. I came to this site for answers because our American History textbook isn't very handy(1000 pgs and not very detailed) the reason I joined it because I was very interested in history and at my school there is world history and american history so I took both I already took Canadian history already and it was pretty boring and is basically nothing compared to what the americans did in their early days. Also I'm very scared cuz I'm not sure what the hell is an AP course and I just joined this website so I can have some background help in Am History course because I never realized the workload would be big. Anyways someone tell me if I'm allowed to be here cuz I'm not sure if this site is related in being with a college or university(cuz i'm so confused into what an AP course is  ) if I'm allowed I'm happy to be with this community while I'm learning about you guys(cuz it looks like everyone here is american)

Your welcome. Hm...my reply may not seem good but here is my answer. AP course is a class that is treated like a college class, where you work and read like one of course. I thought it was better to take it in high school because if you pass the AP course exam at the end of the year -have to be a 3,4, or 5- you will get college credit and hopefully you will save up thousands of dollars from tkaing that class again in college! The multiple q counts 50 percent while the essay/DBQs are the other 50 percent. Some college may not give you credit depending on what score you get from3-5 (1-2 are not passing), so work hard and try getting 3,4, or 5. Sorry if this is unorganized, I am not good with writing (if you read my introduction of myself in the forum you would know, lol). You arre a Junior right? Me too! Also, as my teacher always say, :" Read! Study! Be smart!" Lol, my teacher really have a way of getting into his classes's head, including me. Hope that answer you q. Or try asking your teacher, he amy give you more info, trust me, all AP teachers are good teachers and they are willing to teach and they would love to aswer to the curiosity of us students.

(A late) welcome to the site Lord Falcon. I hope your project went well and thank you Sakura for all that useful information ^^

And we welcome anyone who comes here. You're not the first Canadian we've had and we've had people all the way from Asia join the site and get help- can't get much farther than that. But yes, most people here are from America. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Thank you so much for your welcome greeting now i feel like this is my second home! Sorry for the late reply my project so far has been going great and im really excited (and nervous) to present tomorrow because the presentations got delayed due to the teacher not being their and many other technical difficulties from the other presentations. I hope that I'll do my best as I've learned from the best on the website.
