I'm very sad right now ::sigh::
I've received my progress reports and all my work and have come to the conclusion that I have failed every test/quiz I had taken in APUSH.
The class is very stressful for me, but I refuse to give up. So how do you all prepare yourself for that class?
What do you do to learn the information and remember it and be prepared for an unexpected discussion?
Help/advice would greatly be appreciated, thank you:)
I cram. I don't recomend that to anyone. But I basically read the chapters, but like each one at a time with breaks in between each chapter so I can let it sink in. Then I take the online test/quiz on the computer at the books' website. If I get less than 75% right then I outline that chapter. I hate doing that. But if I get over 75% then I read other people's outlines. And when someone here posts a question, I help answer it without the book. Unless I'm totally stumped. It helped me.
tests? I've been getting 61, 70, 61, 61, 77, and finally a 93. Woot.
I'm just not a good test taker.
capitalization? who the heck came up with this horrible rule?!

you might want to consider taking a test to find your learning type. Maybe you're just going about studying a way that's not good for you. I found a good on here:

Of course you could always try to do things like make up stories to help you remember or get some good pneumonic devices (I don't care that it's misspelled...). Just try to get yourself pumped about reading. Maybe a rewards system would work. Read a chapter, get a treat.

What I do is read and take notes on the chapters AND the teacher's lectures. I make sure during the lecture that i've written down more than what he puts on the overhead. I finish my book notes 3-4 days before the test and start reviewing the notes AND the book itself. Because our teacher makes up the test, I focus more on the lecture notes. So far I've gotten an A on each test and essay. I just took a test today, so hopefully that still stays true xD.
