Washington's Farewell Address

can anyone help me with these Q's?
1. Was Washington's farewell address necessary?
2. What have been its most misunderstood parts? Why?
3. Was it designed as a prescription for all years?
4. Which parts are still valid? and Which are not?

Well, think about it. The Farewell Address was a warning against Permanent Alliances. He did believe in temporary alliances, but to shy away from the permanent ones. If the US was still in good terms with the Russia, WWI would had been substantially different. But anyways, people would think that Washington wanted the nation to be isolationist because of that when in fact he didn't want that to happen.

capitalization? who the heck came up with this horrible rule?!

For number 4, that stopped after WW2. Look at us now, with the whole war in Iraq/terrorism, etc.
