Please Help with DBQ!!

I have a DBQ and I have no idea where to start. It states: Identify and evaluate the impact upon American Society of and two reform movements which emerged from the ferment of the Second Great Awakening. Any suggestions?

I would suggest first finding the reform movements that came from the second great awakening. To save you some trouble, here's a list:

  • Temperance Movement
  • Public Schools
  • Higher Education
  • Asylums for the Mentally Ill
  • Prison Reform
  • Feminism
  • Abolitionist Movement

There are probably more, but these are the most discussed and there's probably more information on these. So...now you choose which ones you want to focus on and then move on from there, gather facts, look at your documents, etc. I suggest that you do choose movements the work with your documents....if they pertain to temperance then a paragraph on the mentally ill might not be the best choice..

Let me know if you need some more help.
