I have to write a DBQ comparing and contrasting Jefferson and Hamilton's views, and I'm not entirely sure how to start it off or what to separate my topics into...
Question:
Although Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were two great leaders in United States history, they both had very different views of government and of the economy. Using the information in the documents and your general knowledge of the two men, analyze the debates between them, their respective positions, that each represented regarding key issues.
Help would be greatly appreciated.
I put together a thesis just now, and any comments on it would be great, too.
Thesis:
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, two extremely different individuals in ideology, tended to disagree with each others’ views of the government and economy.
It's not bad, not bad at all. Short and sweet (I like the use of big words). Make sure you have a nice intro to go along with it. I think of the intro paragraph as setting the scene for the essay, tells the time period, introduce the main characters, tell a little about what's going on in the world, that sort of thing.

Thanks, I'll try that. :)
I'm happy to read it when you're done, or when you're not done either :)

I'm almost done, but I'll try to send you a copy when I finish.
Coming from a strong disagreement on politics and economy of the infant America, come two different Individuals, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Is that fine?
That's good too TaNaTy, a different approach, but very nice still ^^
