Well I guess I thought I'd try out a post... I'm a rising junior taking four AP classes and three honors: APUSH, AP Art History, AP Calculus AB, AP Spanish 5 (and Physics Honors, American Lit Honors). Don't bother telling me how crazy I am.
I'm a writer at heart and actually excited to learn something this year in my history class (since I had the worst teacher before, where we would spend half the class on warm ups related to opera and baseball, then always run out of time when it came to important things... and don't get me started on his simulations).
Hopefully this webstie can help me out on all the notes and such... I'm looking forward to meeting some new people at the same time.

Don't worry about your class schedule, a good deal of us on here have taken/are taking similar course loads, and we perfectly normal...for the most part. XD

Thanks! I actually have a question about SAT prep... I'm thinking on taking it in November, and I wonder if its worth doing prep courses or would a book be fine? And from which company (Princeton Review, Kaplan, Barron's, etc.)?

The book work is fine preparation, though, the consensus is that prep courses are better, mainly because you'd have live help and most schools offer it as a credit.
The best book is Princeton Review, as it's easiest to follow, but Kaplan is a close second.

do they actually do anything though. i mean, i've never really used one and i don'tplan to, given that i allready took it and am not going to take it again. i think that other than taking the PSAT, which shows the format of the test, there isn't a whole lot to do. that's just my opinion though.
and i probably should have put this bit first but WELCOME LOVELYPAGES. it is always fun to see more people on here (better chance of bumping into someone interesting to talk to).
all in all, it's just another brick in the wall...

According to a couple friends, it upped their scores by around ten or something points, in each category. And one said she wouldn't have passed the math portion without the help.

and i heard a lot about kaplan and princeton, and whether they work or not depends on the amount of effort you spend on the practice books. but i'm quite sure that they help. just dont study too hard the day before and faint the day of the test.

Thanks to all of u guys! I was on vacation (I still am but i managed to find a computer!) otherwise I would've been replying faster... Yeah I got a Barron's book from the library, and I'm going to get the World's Best Prep Course Boot Camp book (which I heard is amazing, idk) and the collegeboard's book too... haha seems like a lot. but prep courses locally are like 1000 dollars, and on a practice test I was decent, 1910, and thats the first time I looked at the test. I really want 2100 or above tho, but most mistakes I had were like silly math stuff, timing, and vocab i didn't understand... stuff I can study on my own - all I need to do is take more practice tests and learn some vocab out of a prep book. i guess.
im also taking the ACT but on that practice test i got 33 so im happy with that. its pretty easy.

I am quite new as well, but if you ever require assitance do not hesitate to PM, as I will give helping you my best shot.
I did quite a bit of research recently on SAT/PSAT Guides because I found myself in a similar situation and discovered that Gruber's Complete SAT has some of the best math content out there. If you aspire to score high (and feel that you are prepared for higher level problems) give Barrons SAT 2400: Aiming for the Perfect Score a look.
BTW, I've posted in the 'General AP' section, so if any of you would please give my post a look and find it in your hearts to help, I would be eternally indebted. :)
