So I have a assignment due in a week and I'm having trouble digging up information on the internet about the vocabulary. I have to define the words and then link them to puritan society. I'm having a hard connecting them, or even finding information on them!

for vernacular services, I said that they allowed the common man to become involved with the bible and increased literacy. Therefore, stronger faith along with revolutionary intellect were results upon the Puritan Society. Do you think I'm making the correct connection? I'm having a really hard time figuring out exactly what it means. There are plenty of references to it, but it doesn't out right mention what it means.

Addition: I'm having trouble coming up with a reason for existence dealing with Puritans. Of course, they wanted to purify the church of England, but wouldn't that go the concept of "Individual's relationship within/to the Church" better? So maybe their reason for existence has to do with their concpet of Manifest Destiny?
