hi
im a junior and im taking
US AP
BIO AP
Calc AB AP
English HL1
Psych AP
Does anyone have any tips on staying focused or and easier way to read and understand everything? Because it gets really boring with the reading and i find myself zoning out while reading.
basically, do u have any good study habits that might help me?
I find it helpful to play music while studying. Just make sure that you don't get too into the music. As for the content itself, try studying for 30 minutes, taking a 5 minute break. It breaks things up and keeps you fresh.
Take notes while reading a text, it help reinforce the materials

by sorting out your priority and having a concrete study plan, like this:
#Time management
#Daily Schedule
#Weekly Schedule
#My school calendar
#Creating a to-do list
others:
# Develop blocks of study time
# More difficult material may also require more frequent breaks Schedule weekly reviews and updates
# Prioritize assignments
# Develop alternative study places free from distractions to maximize concentration
# Use your time wisely,Think of times when you can study "bits" as when walking, riding the bus, etc.
# Review studies and readings just before class
# Review lecture material immediately after class
# Schedule time for critical course events,Papers, presentations, tests, etc.
hope this help.

Wow, nice tips, cawn009!
I have the same problem with the thread poster :/ Self-discipline on time management is really hard. Working on it though.
Thanks :), really appreciate it.

thanks a lot for those tips cawn!
i find the schedule a really hard thing to do...as my teachers pour homework in....so i find it hard to incorporate review study time into my day :(
I find that music helps also, but a rule of thumb is that it not be to the point of attracting your attention away from the homework/work at hand [i.e. music that is too loud, etc.]
I'm thinking of putting into my schedule something to look forward to after I finish my homework/study period, perhaps a game, or something else that I find an interest in.
Hope this helps,
John
Definitely keep a schedule, and make sure you don't (DON'T!) fall behind. The more you fall behind the more difficult it takes to catch up.
I usually have problems grasping the big picture in the literature (too bogged down by the details). Here's a website with great lit summaries, www.shmoop.com and it's great with history as well.
The later you sleep, the more work you get in...
