Essay Questions on American Revolution

Can anyone help me with these questions?

1. It is sometimes observed that the roots of future wars lie in the results of past wars. In what ways does it appear that the French and Indian War helped cause the American Revolution?

2. Compare and contrast the major advantages and disagdvantages of the British and the colonist as the Revolutionary War began.

3. many historians argue that without French aid the colonists could never have won their independence. Do you agree or disagree?

The "French and Indian War" was really just another front of a larger war. What was this war? Consider who fought in it and what they stood to gain/lose by controlling the colonies/America.

Quote:2. Compare and contrast the major advantages and disagdvantages of the British and the colonist as the Revolutionary War began.
Consider this from a military perspective. One group (the colonist) lived and worked the land. The British had to be shipped over seas from their home. Also consider numbers, tactics, and supplies.

Quote:3. many historians argue that without French aid the colonists could never have won their independence. Do you agree or disagree?
This is more of your opinion. I would reflect upon the previous question and see what more the French brought to the colonial militia.

Note: In the future, please post what you have already. This will allow us to help you more effectively.

Whenever I have an essay question, i always think of the direct answer to the question, which is usually an event, and i ask my self this:
WHo was involved?
WHere did it occur?
WHat was the actual event?
WHen was the event? (time frame, century, exact date)
WHy did the event occur?

I think its really really helpful.
