American Revolution

What were the long and shirt term political ramifications (or effects) of the American Revolution? I cannot find much information on this subject. Please help!

Well I just try to list them because that's easy.

1. The U.S. was forced to develop their own national economy because they no longer had the mother country to trade with and receive resources from.

2. The U.S. to began search for new trade partners, and expanded its market internationally (Hawaii, China, the Caribbean) which = economic growth.

3. To become a developed and respected country in the world, the U.S. continued to expand on the North American Continent, into Native American, Mexican, and Canadian territory.

4. The revolutionary war resulted in a massive debt, which even today we haven't finished paying.

Hope this helps.
