Hey, I'm not doing Calculus, let alone Pre-Cal:p, in high school, but i'm wondering: is Pre-/Reg Cal is worth it? Cause i'm wanting to learn Calculus, but i don't want to utterly masacre(sp?) myself in college when i do take it. Feedback?

While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. It all depends on what you want to do after high schoo. If your looking into fields such as physics, engineering, or other intense mathematical field, then you will most likely take calculus. The reason is that calculus deals with concepts of instantaneous rates of change, areas of under functions, areas between functions, and even functions with two or more variables. But you don't need to worry about being masscred in college over calculus. Sure, calc can be difficult and even fraustrating at times, but it will help make other classes such as college physics more enjoyable and open other options for you after you ahve take the class. Besides, even if you get a C in the course, you will have enough knowledge to continue on in whatever field you wish to pursue.

opting out of calc is probably not the best choice considering it's helped me on the SAT ACT and non-calculus math related courses. Also, you never know what might interest you.
i think you should go for it. Math was not by best subject but i scored a 5 anyways. My teacher was excellent. check with your buddies if the teacher is good at teaching and not if she easy or not. IF your going to be an engineering major than you should definetly take it. Such classes really make you more smart and you will be better adapted to cope with difficult things later in college
I think it's definitely worth. I took Calc A/B last year, and got a 5 on the test. Either way, I think that if you can do well enough on the test, it's definitely better to take it in a smaller classroom setting with looser requirements and a teacher you are more familiar with.

That's a great point. Calculus taught in high school = ~30 students per class. Calculus taught in most colleges = 300 students per class.

Hey, I'm talking AP Calc AB, and it is the hardest course I ever took (concept wise). But I am learning stuff I need for engineering and time management :).
Yes, it is definitely worth it because you get the opportunity to learn a lot of real-world applications.
Also, it helps a lot in future math and engineering courses.
