I'm taking this class independently next year, because my school doesn't offer it; and I was wondering whats the main differences on the test, like with writing the dbqs and things

I took Euro my sophomore year and this year I took APUSH.
The major difference in the DBQs is the amount of outside information your suppose to have. Last year we were told to basically stay within the documents and this year they were telling us, 50% of our information had to be outside.
The test is the same except it gets more specific with the questions. All of the questions this year were pretty broad compared to Euro. In Euro almost one-third of the test was on the same country (out of like 15) but our book kinda only had one page about that country. Note I bombed the test badly last year.

The primary difference in the tests (other than the subject matter) is the DBQ. One difference is outside information. The U.S. history DBQ requires outside information (if you don't have it, you cannot get over a 5 on the DBQ); however, in the European history DBQ, absolutely no outside information is required. (It is, however, an extra bonus if you do have it.) Another difference between the two DBQs is point of view. The United States history DBQ does not require you to provide any point of view for the documents. The European history DBQ does require you to provide point of view for at least 3 of the documents you use in your essay (if you don't have it, you cannot get over a 5 on the DBQ.) With point of view, you must analyze not only what a source says, but why they are saying it. Point of view is, basically, identifying any biases of the source.
