Defarge delivers a message to Lorry under Manette?s orders and Lorry leads the Defarges to where Lucie is staying. Defarge then delivers a note from Darnay to Lucie, which over joys Lucie and gives her hope. This hope is then crushed by Madame Defarge?s evil character and sinister stares.
