Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs. both were made in God's image and lived in the Garden of Eden, where they shared a personal relationship with God. God said they could eat of any tree except one in the garden, but Eve was deceived by Lucifer in the form of a snake and took a bite of the forbidden fruit. Later she shared the fruit with Adam and they both became imperfect to God's image and sin was created. So God banished them from the Garden of Eden forever.6
6025228513RuthNaomi was a woman who had a husband and two sons. When the husband died she was just left with two sons who went on and married women of their own. One of these women was named Ruth, the other was Orpah. Then as the years went by, Naomi's sons died. This left her with just her two daughter in laws. Naomi decided to travel to Bethlehem which is where she was from. She told the girls to go home to their mothers as well since they were both young enough to remarry. Orpah did as instructed after some reluctance but Ruth refused and insisted on staying by Naomi's side. When they arrived in Bethlehem Ruth decided she needed to work so she went to a field and followed behind the collectors and picked up what barley they dropped. The field owner noticed this and asked the workers about her. He then came up and told her to continue to work for him and that he would give her whatever she needed. When she asked why he said it was because he knew what she had done for Naomi.7

Noah and his family built the ark and, along with a pair of every creature, survived the world- wide flood God caused for 40 days and 40 nights. 6025235411Garden of EdenOften called Paradise is the biblical "garden of God", described most notably in the Book of Genesis chapters 2 and 3, and also in the Book of Ezekiel. The "garden of God", not called Eden, is mentioned in Genesis 13, and the "trees of the garden" are mentioned in Ezekiel 31. The Book of Zechariah and the Book of Psalms also refer to trees and water in relation to the temple without explicitly mentioning Eden. Much like records of the great flood, creation story and confusion of languages, the story of Eden echoes the Mesopotamian myth of a king, as a primordial man, who is placed in a divine garden to guard the tree of life.[6] In the Hebrew Bible, Adam and Eve are depicted as walking around the Garden of Eden naked due to their innocence.[7] Eden and its rivers may signify the real Jerusalem, the Temple of Solomon, or the Promised Land. It may also represent the divine garden on Zion, and the mountain of God, which was also Jerusalem. The imagery of the Garden, with its serpent and cherubs, has been compared to the images of the Solomonic Temple with its copper serpent (the nehushtan) and guardian cherubs.12
6025237733LuciferLucifer was once the most beautiful angel in Heaven. He was loved by God and was very respected, however he did not like that God made humans in God's image and that God put humans at a higher standard than his angels. Lucifer thought that the angels should be over the humans and should have power over them, so he rounded up the angels who were on his side and attempted to revolt against God. Obviously, he could not revolt against the person who created him, and God cast them out of Heaven and gave them the keys to the deepest darkest corners of the universe where they are to stay for eternity. So Lucifer became the Prince of Hell, or the devil, and the angels that followed him became demons under him command.13
6025241738Daedalus and IcarusDaedalus was an inventor who lived with his son, Icarus, on the island of Crete. He was approached by a king who asked if he could invent something useful and Daedalus did not disappoint. he created the fabled Labyrinth that would contain the half bull, half man, Minotaur. Unfortunately the king was greedy and had the man imprisoned so he would get all of his useful inventions. At first Daedalus did not mind because anything he asked for the king would obtain for him with very little or no question. But as his son grew up Daedalus began to wonder of a life in prison was really the best thing for his son. So he asked the king to release his son which the king denied rather quickly. So instead of living in Prison he devised an invention that would become myth. A set of wings. he used feathers and candle wax to create the wings and together he and his son escaped. While they were flying however, Daedalus told Icarus not to fly too closely to the sun as it would melt the candle wax and cause the wings to fall apart, but also not to fly too close to the water as the wings would become heavy and he would be unable to fly. The young man of course did not listen and flew very close to the sun where the wax would melt and he would fall to his death.14
6025241739Eurydice and OrpheusOrpheus was a gifted musician because his father was Apollo and his mother was one of the fabled Muses. His wife however was a mortal. When she died Orpheus traveled to the underworld to beg Hades to allow her to return to Earth as herself rather than be reborn in a different life. Hades agreed but had one condition. On the journey out of the Underworld Orpheus must not look back. The trek was difficult though and Orpheus feared his wife may need his help on the trip or even worse Hades wouldn't let her leave at all. So he risked a quick glance back and lost his wife forever.15
6025243431The Holy GrailThe Grail was said to be the cup of the Last Supper and at the Crucifixion to have received blood flowing from Christ's side. 6025243432Persephone and DemeterThis myth is used to explain the seasons. The story says that Demeter loved her daughter Persephone very dearly and that while she witnessed the girl playing Demeter became happy. This caused nature to flourish and thrive. Hades fell in love with young Persephone though and kidnapped her. He imprisoned her in the underworld and offered her many elegant foods. She refused to eat however because she knew that if you eat food from the underworld you will become forever trapped inside of it. Finally she relented and ate 6 pomegranate seeds. Zeus heard of this news and was very displeased. His resolution was to send his messenger Hermes to work out a deal with Hades. Finally everyone agreed that Persephone would spend 6 months in the underworld and 6 months on earth. In the winter while Persephone is in the underworld, Demeter becomes sad and the plants die, and in the summer they flourish because Demeter is happy that her daughter is with her.17
6025245267AgamemnonAgamemnon was the Greek king of Argos. His brother was Menelaus, King of the Spartans. Menelaus wife was taken by Paris back to the city of Troy and the pair gathered a massive army with the stated purpose of taking her back through war. The real reason that Agamemnon wished to fight at Troy was not for his brothers' wife however. He was in search of wealth and the Trojan empire was very wealthy. Upon his return from Troy (having been victorious) he was slain by Aegisthus who was his wife's lover.18
6025245268PrometheusPrometheus was one of the Titans, son of Iapetus (also a Titan) and Clymene, an Oceanid. His brothers were Epimetheus, Atlas and Menoetius. The name derives from the Greek word meaning 'forethought'. During the Titanomachy, the war between the Titans and the Olympian gods, Prometheus sided with Zeus, helping to overthrow the old gods. Siding with the winning side, Prometheus avoided being punished with the rest of the Titans and was therefore not sent to Tartarus, the Underworld. In all accounts, Prometheus was presented to be the protector and benefactor of mankind.19
6025245814AchillesAchilles was a legendary Greek warrior. legend has it that he was dipped in the River Styx so that he would be invulnerable to mortal weapons. He had one weakness which was the point from which he was held while being dipped into the river by his mother as a baby. It was his heel which is where the modern term "Achilles Heel" comes from. He killed the Trojan hero "Hector" in the Trojan war. Although his death is not depicted by "The Illiad" which is the story of the Trojan War, he was shot in the heel by Paris during the invasion.20
