Human beings making important decisions for themselves and others,
PUBLIC and AUTHORITATIVE
Collective decisions that extend beyond the individual, typically involving government action.
Decisions made within families, among friends, or in social groups that do not bind anyone outside that group.
Formal power rests in individuals or groups whose decisions are expected to be carried out and respected.
Political decisions that are binding for members of a political system.
A political system is a complete set of government institutions, interest groups (such as political parties, trade unions, lobby groups), the relationships between those institutions and the political norms and rules that govern their functions (constitution, election law).
An independent legal authority over a population in a particular territory, based on the recognized right to self-determination.
A right that is believed to belong justifiably to every person. Example: Locke believed that everyone had the right to life, liberty and property.

Benefits created through government intervention in the economy.
A politician using the government to reap unfair benefits
A treaty of Europe that established the principle of nation states having power
The increasing unification of the world's economic order through reduction of such barriers to international trade as tariffs, export fees, and import quotas. The goal is to increase material wealth, goods, and services through an international division of labor by efficiencies catalyzed by international relations, specialization and competition
Establishing a national identity (ie: common language, values)
People learn to be subservient to authorities and to rely on governments to meet their needs. In such societies, governments partonize and pacify their citizens.
A hypothetical situation, where there is no government influence.
A commodity or service provided without profit to all members of a society.
An agreement between a government and its people.
