8920307765 | Siddhartha | Siddhartha Guatama is the founder of Buddhism. He was born into a noble family, as a prince in the foothills of the Himalayas. A prophecy indicated that if he stayed at home, he would grow up to become a world ruler. However, if the the child left, he would become a universal spiritual leader. Siddhartha's father wanted him to become a great king, and so kept him at home. One day, Siddhartha wanted to venture outside of his palace and see the world. While outside, he saw an old man, a sick man, and a corpse. He learns about the existence of suffering and feels compassion. Soon after, he leaves his family and home to join the ascetics to search for the spiritual truth. | 0

One day he heard a musician speaking to his disciple, "If you tighten the string too much, it will snap. If you make it too loose, it will not play." After hearing this, Siddhartha realized that he had actually been following the wrong path. Leaving the ascetics, he meditated under along under a large fig tree. After 49 days, he achieved a great understanding about the nature and cause of suffering. From then on, he was known as the Buddha, or enlightened one. | 2
