7349238384Pastoral SocietiesWhat- Herding of animals that took place in the Arctic tundra, grasslands, and deserts where farming was difficult or impossible. Nomadic, and moved seasonally. Significance- SInce the pastoral societies couldn't they needed herbivores such as sheep, buffalo, camels, horses, reindeer, goats, or cattle. Relying on the meat, dairy, and blood of the animals.22
7349258963Paleolithic settling downWhat- Paleolithic cultures occurred over time as people moved into new environments, as the last ice age came to an end. Followed by a general global warming. Significance- Because the paleolithic cultures would lead the start of agriculture and domestication.23
7349319944Austronesian MigrationsWhat- The migration of Austronesians from Taiwan following the migration of pre- Austronesian from continent Asia, between approximately 10,000- 6,000 B.C. Which carried their ancestral language. Significance- The Austronesians migrated and brought plants and animals in canoes with them.24
7349342842Fertile CrescentWhat- A recent shaped region containing to comparatively moist and fertile land of Western Asia, the Nile valley, and the Nile Delta. Significance- The fertile crescent was the first to experience the agricultural revolution.25
7349393893CatalhyukWhat- The Catalhyuk contained several thousand people. Didn't have kings, chiefs, bureaucrats, or aristocrats. Significance- An agricultural village in Southern Turkey. The Catalhyuk maintained a substantial amount of social and gender equality.26
7349419705Clovis CultureWhat- The Paleo- American culture of central and North America. Significance- The Clovis culture was a pre- historic Native- American culture that first shows up in North America 13,500 years ago. The culture is named for artifacts found near Clovis.27

7349453742Bantu MigrationWhat- Bantu speaking people migrated from Western Africa, spreading across all of the Southern Africa. Migration was between 1000 B.C.E and about 1700 A.D. Significance- Bantu shared their language, culture, religion, and weapon knowledge, with the Native people.29
7349482723ChiefdomsWhat- Social groups with thousands of members, a political system based on hereditary authority and Kinship. Non- Industrial societies. Leadership was monopolized by senior members of select families. Significance- Highly stratified societies with elite classes of chiefs who ruled over commoners.30
