Workers surrounded it-Management hired Pinkerton but they were spotted and a gunfight erupted 3 Pinkerton and 10 miners killed. Pennsylvania governor ordered the state militia to impose peace at Homestead. July 23, two weeks later, anarchist, Alexander Berkman shot 2x and stabbed several Frick. called Dr. bandaged wounds and worked till closing time.18
