Parts of a Cell

Terms : Hide Images
the brain of the cell; directs all cell activities
made up of DNA; found in the nucleus
produces energy for the cell to use by breaking down substances
jelly-like fluid inside the cell where organelles are found
the protective layer around the cell; allows food to pass into cell and waste to pass out
transport system (railroad); tubes in which materials can be processed and moved around the cell
filled with chlorophyll; traps sun's energy for photosynthesis
outer covering that surrounds a plant cell; gives the plant its shape
