It lasted from 1910-1920 and costed 10% of the population. Peasant armies took out Diaz with the intent of seizing land from haciendas and redistributing it to peasants. It ended with a new constitution for Mexico.13

Critics saw it as a form of colonialism because the U.S took advantage of Latin America by acquiring land for corporate benfit, controlling Panama Canal, and annexation of Puerto Rico as territory.14
