Hello everyone,
I am an AP art history teacher in Texas. if anyone needs to, please ask away at this link...
I use Gardner's Art Through the Ages... IMO, it's slightly more college-level... Stokstad is more readable for high schoolers...
but the honest truth is, if you put your heart into this class, you will do well...and it will change your view of history and the world in ways you never imagined.
As a teacher, I really enjoy talking about where we get our ideas from, and what events has inspired those.
so, feel free, ask away!
What exactly do we focus on in this type of class. I was thinking about doing it my senior year. If your still there, hit me up with details!
i have a sort of specific question...
i am in ap art history and one of our projects is to write a paper on an artwork which has significant questions about it - such as the date of the sphinx in giza. the artwork has to be from 30000 BCE to 479 AD... do you know any good pieces for me to choose?
thanks!
