First off, what is music theory? What do you study in the course? I'm thinking about taking it to get better at my instrument and music writing.

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
What are you looking to major in for college? Chances are, AP Music Theory will not count towards anything but a general elective if you major in something other than a music related major. Just something to keep in mind. If you're looking to take it as a fun class, I'd save that for college as there's a good chance the course offering will be better and not have to follow a certain curriculum (which you may or may not like). However, if you do plan on majoring in music, I'd suggest taking it as it gives you a leg up on the other freshman going in assuming it will get you out of a core major course.
Hope that made sense, but if it didn't let me know and I'll explain more in depth.

I am definitely not majoring in music in college, but I decided to take this class. I LOVE it so far, and I am learning so fast. The fact that I will not be a music major in college made me want to take it more, because I might not have any more chances to take a music class.
That's a great perspective to take. However, you'd be surprised at the cool classes that you never even imagined that have nothing to do with your college major you're able to take in college. I took a class called the history and psychology of sports. We watched sports movies and ESPN clips and then wrote reflection pieces on them.
