Hey guys, really need help on this, I tried doing it, but keep getting the wrong answer, can't figure out what i'm going wrong.
what's the shortest distance from the curve xy=4 to the origin?:p

Well that is a minimization problem and you are trying to minimize the distance between xy=4 and the origin.
Since you are solving for shortest distance you are looking for minima therefore you need to create a formula that solves for the distance from the curve to the origin, then take the derivative of it finding critical points. Use the distance formula to do so. You can proceed to do the second derivative test and find the minimas and then find the absolute minimum.
