 And yet I am still taking it next year (it's that or stats which I also need a math for senior year so this is it) ...(dun..dun..dun) I am only a sophmore but in pre-cal and a little worried because I'm taking APUSH right now and making a 98 which is really good but this is the first class I have actually had to work hard for my grade in, and I'm much better at History than math...so any tips for surviving?

Definitly perchase a study guide. My advice would be to go with How To Ace Calculus: The Streetwise Guide. It was written with college students in mind, but it is the best book out there. It explain every concept of Calc AB with jokes and clearly! I would definitly recommend that. Also, Make sure you take good notes and try to get a study group going.

I would advise a teacher. I know that sounds really stupid, but if you don't hav an AP certified Calculus teacher don't try and take it online. One of my friends took AB online as a Sophmore and no one at the school could help her. I am taking AB right now as a Junior and it's really not that bad... but then again I have an amazing teacher! :)
I'm taking AB right now too as a junior. I'd just say practice the problems. A LOT. Somehow, I'm doing better in APUSH than in math, when math has always been my strong point. Hm. Funny how that works out. But just be ready to study and spend time on your math.

It depends on how good you are at math. If you've always been understanding concepts and doing well in your math classes, you shouldn't have a problem. However if you have been doing well but needed to work hard to do so, you probably need a study guide and lots of practice (and a good teacher :D).

College Calculus I
AP Lit + Comp
AP US History
AP Physics
I suggest doing the homework, don't let the seniors in your class pull you into the lazy disease known as senioritis. Other than that, a review book might be good, and don't be afraid to go to your teacher before or after school if you're having trouble. And if you're really having trouble, or your teacher isn't good, look me up online and I'll be happy to help you with Calc or any of your other classes (be they AP or not)

We're reviewing in BC too. Hm. Summer has made me forget everything.

Best advice for calc. or any math, DO lots of problems and redo the ones that were really hard. Set a day of the week for 2 hours for math only. Nothing else. No tv, music, nothing. Just do problems for 2 hours. If you have trouble with the work, ask your teacher for help.
Oh, also try to do as many problems without a calculator, even the calculator ones, or at least attempt to. Remember, the final answer is less important than the work shown.
Just take it one topic at a time and you'll be fine.

Well If you don't feel comfortable doing it I would advise not to do something you are going to end up regretting. I decided to BC sophomore year because I knew that I would be able to devote most of my allotted school time to it and because math comes naturally to me. If you don't think you will have the time to put in the required effort or the desire I would say take an easier course. But if you are really determined and really have a passion for math I would say it is great fun and you will not have problems as long as you don't procrastinate and force yourself into all-nighters studying which puts you in a horrible position for tests. Another suggestion is too always ask your teacher for help, even if you feel that they think you are a bother always asking for help, because their goal is to see to it that everyone succeeds in their classroom and not asking will be bad for both of you.
In conclusion do what you feel comfortable with, but think beforehand whether or not you will regret this choice because you don't want a decision to take the easier route to haunt you. Good Luck
bc's really not much harder than ab. i'm in bc, and a lot of my friends took ab to "take it easy" but found out it only saves them 1 chapter. calculus is just a bunch of formula memorization. stay on top of the formulas and you'll be fine! :)
