Who would you like to see as the next president when Bush steps down... Not a Democratic fan but I wouldn't mind Hillary Clinton ;) She would and can do wonders for this country.

Sorry, but Mrs. Clinton doesn't have a chance of winning. Guiliani will probably run against her in the election, but I doubt that it will be much of a contest unless Guiliani does something incredibly stupid. (like calling attention to the fact that she's a woman.) Subconsciously, the majority of people in America are still very sexist. Besides, the name Clinton alone is likely to hurt her enough that she won't win against a decent candidate. Most people above 50 were extremely disturbed by the "incident", and those people are going to weigh in heavily. Rice won't come close to being Pres., and neither will Cheney.
Odd side note: Isn't it funn{ how, just a couple years before Hilary will run for president (if she decides to), a show comes on tv depicting a woman as president? Coincidence or Propaganda? Remember, as a rule, there isn't much politicians won't do to gain a more powerful office.

I would love for Giuliani to be president but it just won't happen. People simply won't vote for him because he is from New York. In my opinion he might not even win New York.
I doubt Hillary will win. She might have a chance if she could win the primaries; but, that will be a difficult feat for her since many liberals don't like her.
I doubt Mccain will win either. He's way to liberal. A liberal Republican will never win, but a conservative Republican will.

Reply to odd side note: I have a suspicion that Bush did the same thing for the War in Iraq. If any of you watch Star Trek, then you probably saw some of the new series that they came up with called Enterprise. Well, it didn't resemble any Star Trek series that I know, and I have seen alot of episodes. Basically the commander is trying to find a weapon that's capable of destroying the world and stop the people who are trying to blow us up from doing it. Of course, there are different types of people and some of them sympathize with us and help. Sound familiar? Anyways, I have no idea how it turned out because, well, it was a very very bad sci-fi show and the plot was highly predictable, not to mention they went completely against the timeline of the original series (which wasn't all that hi tech, but still fun to watch).

I couldn't agree more! Also with the Commander and Chief show you are referring to, an interview in Time Magazine was done with the director of communications for the Democratic National Committee when it began. Commander and Chief was written by the Democratic Party to convince Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2008.

All the people saying that we need a black president or that we need a woman president, and claiming that due to the fact that you say america is racist are just demonstrating that at least you are discriminating because all groups are not equal in your eyes

No, because it is high time someone from a minority is elected. There are plenty of qualified individuals from said groups.

You do have a point that this whole forum made the presidential race into a gender/race issue. However, I personally believe that the presidential race will ALWAYS have something to do with gender or race. I believe everyone, not only Americans, will always harbor some kind of stereotype. And if you say you don't have any yourself you're either very idealistic, or lying to yourself. I believe the majority of people will subconsciously not vote for someone only because of their gender and/or race. I know I sound kind of anti-human, but I believe that growing up in modern day society, although more tolerant than before, is a profoundly stereotypical society. I myself harbor certain stereotypes; I would be lying if I said I didn't. If you have ever called the Germans nazi's, the French pansy's, someone a terrorist simply because they are of Islamic decent, even if you have made a "dumb blonde" joke, you are projecting modern day stereotypes.

Case in point. Why should it be "high time" to elect someone simply because they are part of a minority? I believe in candidate qualification, if you are qualified enough you'll win, if your not you won't. Yes, there are many people within those minorities that are amazingly qualified to oversee this country, but there are many people within the majority who are equally qualified.
I would write a little more, but I'm tired and have a lot more real homework to do.

First of all, if Hillary Clinton runs for President, polls ahve already shown that top Republican moderates including John McCain and Rudy Giuliani easily top Hillary Clinton. The GOP realizes to keep Hillary out of the White House they will probably have to go with one of these two guys, most likely seasoned war veteran John McCain. Second, if Hillary ever won, ask doctors if they think she would do a good job. In addition, the Republicans will be strong enough in 2008 to capture both houses. She is such a polarizing figure there would probably be a period of four stalled years in Washington.
